What changed

This version adds guest phone numbers, purchase records, and sign-in providers to the list of information we collect, describes the RSVP pages that wedding guests use, lists our service providers by name, and explains how to delete your account in the app.

1. Overview

Knot Ready helps couples plan a wedding, manage guests, budgets, RSVP details, seating, notes, and collaboration.

We collect only the information needed to provide planning features, sync data, secure accounts, process purchases, and operate the app.

2. Information We Collect

Account data. Account data may include your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers. You can sign in with Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or an email address and password. We receive the identifier and the name or email address the provider shares with us for sign-in. We also store app settings.

Wedding data. Wedding data may include wedding date, budget items, vendor notes, guest names, plus-one status, meal choices, dietary restrictions, hotel needs, registry links, and planning notes entered by users.

Guest contact data. Couples may enter a phone number for a guest on the guest list. This field is optional. We do not use it to send marketing messages.

Dietary and allergy information. Couples and guests may provide dietary restrictions and allergy information. This is described in Section 6.

Purchase records. If you buy Knot Ready PRO Lifetime Access through the App Store, we store the Apple transaction identifiers, the product purchased, and the purchase date. We use these records to unlock Pro features on your account and to prevent the same purchase from being linked to more than one account. We do not receive your payment card details.

Technical data. Technical data may include device tokens for notifications, app diagnostics and crash reports, and security logs. Crash reports are collected by Firebase Crashlytics and are not linked to your account.

3. How We Use Data

We use data to provide wedding planning features, synchronize data across devices, support partner collaboration, send reminders, verify purchases, and protect accounts.

We do not sell personal information and do not use wedding guest data for third-party advertising.

4. Information Guests Provide Through RSVP Pages

Couples can share an RSVP link with their guests. Guests open the link at rsvp.knotreadyapp.com to find their name on the guest list and respond to the invitation. Guests do not need a Knot Ready account to respond.

When a guest responds, we process the following information on behalf of the couple:

• the name the guest types to find their entry on the guest list (used to find the entry and not saved as a separate record);
• whether the guest is attending or declining;
• whether the guest's plus-one, listed children, the afterparty, or accommodation are confirmed;
• the meal choice and dietary restrictions for the guest, the plus-one, and each listed child, including any free-text note about restrictions;
• the gift registry item the guest selects, if any;
• a hashed (SHA-256) network address, stored with the RSVP response until the wedding is deleted; and a hashed rate-limit record, kept to prevent abuse of the RSVP pages.

We use this information to deliver the RSVP response to the couple, so they can plan seating, catering, and gifts. The couple who invited you is the primary user of this information. Knot Ready processes it on their behalf.

To ask for your RSVP response to be changed or deleted, contact the couple who sent the invitation, or contact us at knotreadyapp@gmail.com and include the name you entered on the RSVP page. We will help where we can, and we may ask the couple to confirm the request.

5. Service Providers

We use the following service providers to operate Knot Ready. They process data only to provide their services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own independent marketing.

• Google Firebase provides authentication, database storage (Cloud Firestore), cloud functions (including the RSVP pages), cloud messaging for notifications, hosting for the RSVP pages, Crashlytics crash reports, and App Check device attestation, which helps confirm that requests come from the genuine app. Some cloud functions run in Google Cloud's europe-west1 region.
• Google Sign-In provides the Google sign-in option.
• Apple provides Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases for Knot Ready PRO Lifetime Access.

6. Dietary Restrictions & Allergy Information

Dietary restriction and allergy information is sensitive in nature. We collect it only to show the couple their guests' needs for meal planning and event safety.

Couples are responsible for informing wedding guests when they enter their information into the app.

This information is never used for advertising, profiling, or marketing. It is not sold or shared with advertisers. Access is limited to the couple and collaborators they add to the wedding in Knot Ready, and to our service providers acting on our behalf.

Some state laws, such as those in California, Virginia, Colorado, and Texas, treat health-related information as sensitive personal data. Knot Ready applies the same restrictions to this information in every state: it is used only for the wedding dinner service and is not processed for profiling or marketing.

7. Account Deletion & Data Deletion

Delete your account in the app. Open App Settings > Account > Delete Account, confirm the warning, then type DELETE and tap Delete My Account. The app then signs you out on that device.

Delete your account by email. You can also email knotreadyapp@gmail.com and ask us to delete your account.

When you delete your account, the following happens:

• Weddings you own that no one else is a member of are deleted, together with their guest lists, RSVP responses, budget, notes, gift registry, and activity records.
• Weddings you own that still have other members are transferred to one of those members, so their planning data is not lost. Your access to those weddings is removed.
• Weddings you only collaborate on are left, and your access is removed.
• Your profile, your device push-notification tokens, and any wedding invite codes linked to deleted weddings are deleted.
• Your sign-in record is deleted from Firebase Authentication.

Deletion runs when the request is completed, and the data is removed from our active systems at that time. We keep two limited records after deletion. First, a deletion record that stores a hashed (SHA-256) form of your account identifier and counts of the weddings affected, without any planning content. Second, Apple purchase verification records, so that a purchase cannot be linked to more than one account. Operational logs may contain your account identifier and are deleted automatically under Google Cloud's log retention period. Crash reports that Firebase Crashlytics has already received are retained under Google's practices and are not linked to your account.

Guests may ask the couple who entered their information to remove or correct guest details. Guests may also contact us as described in Section 4.

8. California and U.S. State Privacy Rights

Knot Ready does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as described in Section 2 and Section 4:

• Identifiers: email address, account identifier, device identifier for notifications, and hashed network address.
• Contact and personal records: name, phone number, and guest names.
• Commercial information: Apple purchase records for Knot Ready PRO Lifetime Access.
• User content: planning notes, budget items, and other content you enter.
• Sensitive personal information: dietary restrictions and allergy information, as described in Section 6. We use it only for the purposes in Section 6.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and app diagnostics.

California residents may request access to, correction of, deletion of, and a copy of their personal information, and may request information about the categories collected and disclosed. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their own laws. We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

9. Children

Knot Ready is not directed to children under 13 and should not be used by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Security

Data is protected in transit using TLS and by Firebase security rules and authentication controls. The RSVP pages use rate limits and device attestation to reduce abuse.

No system is perfectly secure, so users should avoid storing highly sensitive information in free-text notes.
